Larne Development Forum, the economic development partnership of Larne Borough Council, has launched an important new leaflet which explains the various support organisations in Larne, available to help people who have been made redundant or are out of work. This leaflet will be available at various public places including the Library, Council offices, Ledcom and Community Centres as well as being available on both the Council and Ledcom websites.
Explaining the purpose of the new leaflet, Alderman Roy Beggs, Chairman of Larne Development Forum, said
"In these difficult economic times, when people may find themselves out of work perhaps for the first time in their lives, the range of options open to them can be confusing. Whether you want to consider training, volunteering, job hunting, further education, or self employment, this leaflet will give you basic information and contact numbers to help you make the right choice."
It should of course be noted that support schemes are subject to change and so local people should always check with the Jobs and Benefits Office to ensure that they are eligible for any particular scheme, or to obtain more detailed advice.
